Air Transat/Jetsgo Baggage Allowance
Escrito el 9 de January del 2009 por wktd.I'm considering flying Air Transat on the way there and Jetsgo back (save more than $100+ rt). I know their baggage allowances are 20/32kg respectively. I'm just wondering do they strictly enforce the allowance? Say I go over by 5kg, will they actually charge me? Anyone has experience with these charter carriers on this aspect? I'm asking since I plan to bring back some heavy textbooks and notes home this Christmas.
I remember last year when I traveled on C3K. My bags went over the allowance by a little bit. The agent saw on my ticket thatI'm going away for 4 months (for school) and just sent the bags down without charging me! :-)
What is the maximum check-in baggage allowance for AC Elites, travelling in Y?
Is it really 4 pieces?
I need to bring 3 regular size cardboard boxes (packing boxes) & my suitcase on a YYZ-YEG flight next week.
You shouldn't have any problems. I used to take 4 pieces all the time when I went to trade shows and the booths got pretty heavy and still no problems.

Yes, it's 4 pieces when you're flying AC metal. This benefit is listed in your Elite benefit guide. Most agents know about this so you should be ok.
They were all very polite. At those lower fares these cariers likely toe a pretty firm line on extra bags.
