Confused on Power in C for JFK-NRT

Escrito el 9 de January del 2009 por anonym.
  • Wife just found out today that she is flying JFK-NRT on Monday in C (love the advance notice from work). She is on flight 9 and I went to ANA web site and it says she has power, but the picture of the power receptable looks somewhat odd [from US point of view] (link (http://intsvc.aspwb.com/GE/C/200609/JFK_NRT/seat/seat.html)). It appears that she will need a converter to get her US computer plug to work on the plane. Is this correct? I have a travel adapter for her ThinkPad that has both cigarette lighter and EmPower connection.

But then I saw a post about using ANA batteries during the flight and now I am really confused. Does the plane have power ports or do you have to use their batteries? Seatguru seems to indicate that the plane has power ports. She is in seat 12A so she must be on the 777-300 model as that seat doesn't exist on the 200 model.

I assume that the internet still works - but haven't searched here yet. I know that Boeing is stopping Connexion but not sure when.

Then I got thrown for a major loop on her return flight as she was in seat 13D which doesn't exist. Finally saw bottom of itinerary that it's a United Codeshare. So she'll get to compare NH vs United C class - I'm sure NH will win :)

    Thanks for the help.

  • In the new style seat the power plug looks a bit odd because it is a universal plug that accepts both 220, european, and US style plugs without the need for an adaptor. My Sony Vaio laptop power supply (2 prong, no ground) worked fine.

One small point, if you want to plug in your ipod power supply into the socket it won't work because the socket is recessded.
