HNL-NRT in C - UA or ANA?

  • I'm planning my honeymoon and we're going to be leaving from Hawaii for a trip to Asia using miles. Looks like there's nice availability way out ahead, so what's the best service in Business Class from HNL-NRT - is it on United or ANA (Air Japan on this route). Please let me know your experiences with the seats, food, service, etc.

    Hi,

    If yu don't mind the typical UA service, go for UA as they have a better hardware (747 or 777) on this flight. Nh is much better service wise but the aircraft is a 763 and if you get a 2-2-2 configuration, it will not be a nice flight.
    the 763 2-1-2 is much better but does not cmpare to the better feel of the UA seat and definitely not the roomier cabin of the 747 or 777 on this quite long (more than 9 hours sometimes) flight.
    I take NH because of the bonus miles and my diamond status.
    Both fly a daytime flight which makes it ok.
    As you are on an award and can choose I would go for UA.
