Would like to make a mileage run from the Bay Area to somewhere on the East Coast... I would need to complete before the end of May and want to use Volumebuy certs.
Seems as if I'm having a hard time using these certs as all the sale fares are web only - instant purchase so VB certs do not apply!
Any success stories? Thanks in advance. If you call ahead to the phone number on the Something Special certificates, they can do the pricing and the Phase 4 stuff in the notes to save time at the counter.
My flights were not web specials, so it was not a problem with the certs.I think you will have trouble using volumbuy certs on a domestic web fare because you do have to book on the web these days. However, sometimes there are cheap fares that are NOT web-only fares and with the discount using volumbuy might bring the price down even cheaper than the web-only fare NOT using the VB certs. When I booked an international web-only fast last minute, it stated that I had to do it in person, and even though I initially was given a hassle at the ticket office, I was able to call the Tech Line while I was there and he was able to walk the rep through a way to pay for the ticket there, and consequently I WAS able to use as payment the VB certs (and a voucher I had for being bumped) I think that that will be the only way to use VB certs on web only fares - if it is last minute international. But check the regular fares too

DtGI have used the volumebuy certs did not have any problem with the miles posting. Ticketing takes a little bit of time at the counter since they need to do some legwork to combine the certs, but miles were not a problem.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
