SE room at LHR MLL closed

  • I didnt see this posted...Flew through en routre from YYZ to BKK the other day and was informed that the little room for SE in the LHR MLL has been closed. THAI has closed their lounge at LHR and SAS will be closing their lounge for refurbishment so their pax will be using the MLL lounge. So, they decided to close the SE room and will do some minor changes and then open up that room plus the whole back area, to accomodate the increase in pax using the MLL.


  • No...its still there.
    Its been moved to the little room near where the SE bathrooms are, its just the same as it was.
    The same furniture, just a bit more quiet...

    I just wish they put some work stations in there.


  • How was this an SE room. My observations; smoked out glass door...no door-person, no SE only signage...really just another room.

    Always had lots of fresh newspapers and magazines, you could help oneself.

    You should see those toilets! They put 2 pucks in the urinals rather than the single one the rest of us have to put up with. Also, you get soft had-towels than the sandpaper in the pleb bathroom http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif


  • That's too bad. It was a very nice quiet area, although I did miss being able to look out onto the tarmac. FYI, LondonElite, the entrance to the SE room was just to the right of the bar in the back area of the MLL (the one off to the right).
    I did speak to a Concierge there last year who mentioned that there was talk of closing it to make it into a Business Centre. But given how crowded the main rooms get, it does make sense to open up the extra space. Although the SE room got busy at times, quite often there were only a couple of people in there.


  • SE bathrooms? If you mean the ones down the hall on the left side of the bar in the back room my apologies to all SE because I've been unwittingly using those thinking I was the only one who knew about them.

  • There was a SE room at LHR? Where was it, I've never noticed it.

    I have to admit that I usually go to the RCC of the SQ lounge. Although I got to know a few of them, many MLL attendents were often a bit too grumpy for me and the lounge did get very crowded in the early afternoon.

    SAS lounge felt like a cafeteria and Thai looked a bit shabby.

  • I used to watch television in there all the time but I wasn't aware it was for SE pax only. No one ever asked me to leave.I guess it was because I usually was the only person in there.
